Review Submitted Oct 30, 2007 Ok I really like this pub. They have excellent bands on all the time and the atmosphere is savage when there's music. Yeah it gets very busy but you just have to avoid it at the busier times like on a bank holiday etc. It's great on a Thursday or Sunday night too. I can deffo think of a few places you would find people who have a high possibility of having an STD but this is not one of them. Reardons is mostly working class who just want to go out and have a good time. I've never seen a fight in there. The bouncers are fine. They are long standing and most likely know the faces of those who they turn away but those faces can't remember the bouncers which is probably why they get turned away I'm afraid. There are flippin hundreds of pubs in Cork so if you get turned away from one and you spend an hour arguing with the bouncer you probably have little else to do. If you get turned away from a number of pubs then you are probably doing something wrong!
Food is lovely in Reardons too and Havanas has a lovely smoking area.
Only problems I have with Reardons is that at the busier times like Paddy's Day etc they are likely to run out of ice etc which I don't like and the smoking area is about 1/4 of the size it should be for the size of the pub. - Annie, Cork

Review Submitted Jul 17, 2007 Bollocks!! that last comment is obviously some idiot who got stopped on the door for being a tug or scumbag! Reardens is an excellent place to go out the staff are very friendly considering they are dealing with the likes of yourself who get full up with drink before arriving and shout abuse at them all night! I personally love the place and go there regularly, neither myself or my mates have ever had a problem here. You obviously have some personal problem with the place. As for calling it a cowshed, i would say to you you must have been in a few to compare. And for the person who said it should be bombed, shame on you. There are alot of hard working people in Reardens who work every night till 5am cleaning up after the likes of you and you dare say it should be bombed. if you don't like the place just don't go there obviously people do or else it wouldn't be packed every night!
Oh and they do serve food at lunch time and its FAB!

Review Submitted Jun 20, 2007 Pack 'em in, booze 'em up and fuck 'em out, that's the Rearden's way. Too many people, zero comfort and it takes half an hour to get to the ludicrously small toilet. It's like drinking in a cowshed without the glamour.

Review Submitted Jan 3, 2006 Bloody awful place full of the kind of Cork people that you don't want to meet, which in a way is a good thing, as all the fake-tanned, min-skirted tramps and the clone-like bensherman-shirted, shaven-headed shams are off the streets and away from the good pubs. - Jerryman, Cork, Ireland

Review Submitted Nov 8, 2005 Reardens is a typical bar where they just want to get in in there, get about 12 pints into you and roll you out the door at the end so you are someone else problem. Food = Never seen any there. Drink = You might get a good pint but for the most part, they just dont care. Atmosphere = Good if with a group of friends, but as for the place having a great atmosphere, totally over rated, Over all = below average. Maybe it was good at one time, but now, i cant see how. There is no point in saying it is good when it is actually below parr. I hate when friends suggest going there. - Tim Lally, Cork
